Photo Assignment 10: Fill Flash

For this assignment, I used my dad as my subject. This assignment really just explicitly showed me the way that flash is used to fill in what is facing your lens. As you can see from my images side by side above you can see all the details of my dads face whereas in the first one there is no dimension. It is a flat image. With this technique I was able to fill the shadows of my image that by adjusting ISO can't quite fix the same way that flash can. I think this was successful in my attempt because as you can see with the flash it helped in my image where the background is a little more bright than my foreground/subject. Using the flash technique better leveled out my image so you can see everything in the same light. I also think it make it easier for my image to be more crystal clear.

Ways in which I struggled, I didn't exactly know what I wanted my subject to be but that wasn't really where I struggled once I found my Dad. However- the main way in which I struggled was staying in the exact same position and having my dad not move for me to turn on flash and it be the exact same image just with flash. That did prove to be more of a challenge. I think I succeeded in this project because I took what I learned from this assignment and applied it in a way that the technique is properly displayed here.
